If you searched for a free PDF of an Allahabad Law Agency book, this page is for you. We understand why students look — law books are a real expense over three or five years. But we would like you to know exactly what you get, and what you risk.
Why we do not publish free PDFs
Every PDF of our books circulating online is unauthorised. We have never released one. Those files are scanned or leaked copies, and the money from them reaches neither the author who spent years writing the book nor the people who edit, typeset, print and bind it.
What a pirated copy actually costs you
- It is almost always an old edition. This matters more than ever: since 1 July 2024 the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Indian Evidence Act have been replaced by the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam. A PDF from an older printing will teach you repealed law and the wrong section numbers.
- Missing and mis-scanned pages. Pirated scans routinely drop pages, tables and footnotes — usually noticed the week before an examination.
- No amendments. Our editions are revised every year. A static file cannot be.
- Printed piracy is worse. Physically pirated copies use poor paper and binding, fall apart within a semester, and often carry faded or unreadable print.
Legitimate ways to read our books for less
- Your college library. Nearly every law faculty in India stocks our titles. If yours does not have the current edition, ask your librarian to order it — we supply institutions directly.
- Buy direct from us. Ordering from our own store avoids marketplace mark-ups, and you are guaranteed the current edition.
- Question & Answer series. Our QA titles cover the same syllabus at a lower price and are built for revision.
- Bare Acts. If you need only the statute, our bare acts are inexpensive and current.
- Buy as a group. Students often share the cost of a set across a study group and rotate the books.
How to check that a copy is genuine
A genuine Allahabad Law Agency book carries our holographic seal, is printed on good paper with clean, even impression, and states the current edition year on the title page. If you are buying online, check that the seller is Allahabad Law Agency itself and that the listed edition matches the current one. Suspiciously deep discounts and inflated “MRP struck through” prices are the common warning signs.

Allahabad Law Agency has printed law books since 1950. Everything we earn goes back into revising editions, paying authors and keeping prices as low as we can for students. Buying a genuine copy is what makes the next edition possible.
